PB&DHS Membership application 2024

The Society was formed in July 1959 at a public meeting called by the then Potters Bar Urban District Council. Its objects are to encourage the preservation of things of local interest; to study local history; to arrange for lectures on matters of local and general historical interest; to arrange visits to places having historical associations and to undertake projects of interest in and around the district.

The Society was instrumental in the creation of the Potters Bar Museum and volunteers from the Society run and maintain it.

Lectures have been given on a variety of subjects including: –
Local history South Mimms Castle, Brickmaking, Railways, Buses, Airfields,  St. Albans Abbey,  The lectures are selected to be of local interest as far as possible

Joining the Society, you will be able to enjoy the company of others with similar interests and receive 2 free copies of The Newsletter during the membership year

Subscriptions can be paid by cheque or cash at a PBDHS meeting, but we would prefer payment to be made by bank transfer.
